The Texas Guardsman – September 1943

The Texas Guardsman Magazine from September of 1943. The Texas Guardsman was a monthly publication by the Texas State Guard Officers Association. In this edition you will find articles on:

  1. Most of this edition is about the graduation of 1000 officers of the Texas State Guard at the 2nd Annual 8th Service Command State Guard School at Camp Bullis (northwest of San Antonio). Camp Bullis was named for a famous Indian fighter, Brig. Gen, John L. Bullis. Governor Coke Steveson visited the graduation along with his aide-de-camp Maj. Donald Peacock.
  2. Additional articles are about how to make “booby traps” and “potato” grenades, and a historical article on the Battle of San Jacinto.
