The Texas Guardsman Magazine from November of 1943. The Texas Guardsman was a monthly publication by the Texas State Guard Officers Association. In this edition you will find articles on:

  1. Don’t Let Recruiting Lag during State Guard Week (7 to 13 November). This includes the three objectives for the week and messages from Commanding General Arthur Knickerbocker and Governor Coke Stevenson.
  2. Leaders Recognize Value in the Guard with quotes from General Richard Donovan (Commanding General Eighth Service Command), Brig. Gen. L.F. Guerre (Director, Internal Security Division, Eight Service Command), Col. N. Szilagyi GSC (Director, Training Division, Eighth Service Command), and Jesse H. Jones (Secretary of Commerce.
  3. 46th Battalion Saves Dam from Saboteurs in an exercise where field maneuvers were held under the direction of the Adjutant General’s Office. Pecos Air Base provided aircraft to simulate low flying bombers.
