The Texas Guardsman – February 1944

The Texas Guardsman Magazine from February of 1944. The Texas Guardsman was a monthly publication by the Texas State Guard Officers Association. In this edition you will find articles on:

  1. A comparison of eleven different shotguns of five nationally known makers. Shotgun ammunition is also reviewed, how to stack shotguns is illustrated, and instructions on how to clear stoppages.
  2. 26th BN Forms First Service Detachment Co. at Harlingen which is commended by Commanding General Knickerbocker. The Service Detachment Company serve as the supply and transportation unit of the 26th Battalion which puts them in charge of supply, mess (food service) and transportation equipment.
  3. Company D, 16th Battalion Dedicated Its New Armory in Liberty. The dedication of the new Headquarters building was celebrated with a parade, inspection, review and demonstration on 8 September 1943. The Armory was turned over to Company D by the Liberty School Board.
