Selected photographs from the mobilization of the California State Guard on 18 August 1941 at the Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia, California. The mobilization included competitive drills, religious ceremonies, individual and squad marching demonstrations and a pass and review high ranking Army and Navy officers and was attended by15,000 spectators. This was the first mass drill of the California State Guard since it inception six months prior.

These photographs include photos of BG Ray Donavan who was The Adjutant General of California in 1941.
