The Texas Guardsman Magazine from March of 1946. The Texas Guardsman was a monthly publication by the Texas State Guard Officers Association. In this edition you will find articles on:

  1. Texas-A Century Old: On February 19th at 100th anniversary of Texas Statehood in Austin a military theme predominated. The Fifth Battalion of the Texas State Guard out of Austin had prominent place in the parade that went up Congress Avenue toward the Capitol that included their motorized equipment.
  2. Centennial Program is Designed to Lay Foundation for Next 100 Years: The Centennial if the Statehood program is two-fold which included revitalizing agriculture and renaissance of interest in Texas and American history. The Texas Statehood Centennial began with the issuance of a 3-cent stamp by the Postmaster General on 29 December 1945.
  3. M.I.D. Plans State Lecture: The Military Intelligence Department of Texas State under Lt. Col. Royal G. Phillips, Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2 is planning a training program statewide. The training included sections on Search and Seizure, Law of Arrest, and Riots, Mobs and Unlawful Assemblies.
